Chicago Marathon
Sunday October 09
Despite the high temperatures, Jim Jordan ran a fantastic marathon crossing the finishing line 25 minutes faster than his best previous time! Thank you Jim for racing with such a enthousiastic Help-for-Hope spirit (just check the picture)!
Here is his post-race commentary:
"I was honored to wear the Help-for-Hope colors during the 2011 Chicago Marathon. This was my 3rd marathon and a new PR for me, cutting 25 minutes off of my previous best to finish at 4:53:28. As you can see from my finish time, I am not an elite athlete, however I am very pleased with my personal accomplishment and proud to have represented Help-for-Hope during the event. With temperatures reaching 80 degrees on sections of the course it was much warmer than the average of 66 degrees. 4 of the last 5 Chicago Marathons have seen temperatures far above average, and all 3 of my marathons (2007, 2008, & 2011) have been one of these HOT events. I am hoping next year we will see temperatures back down to normal. Maybe then I can cut another 25 minutes off my PR. We’ll see…"
Jim

Congratulations Jim on your third marathon, and a very special THANK YOU for carrying Help-for-Hope’s colors into Chicago!!!
