10km - Half-Marathon

Sunday October 30

Sunday 30 October 2011 was a wonderful sunny and warm day in Lausanne for the latest edition of the Lausanne Marathon. This year’s event was one of the most successful ever with a record breaking participation of 10'675 participants overall.

Help-for-Hope was superbly well represented in the half-marathon with Pierre Fournier's team. They proved to be outstanding and came in with first place for the best team time!

Our proud congratulations to all the athletes of our team for this well earned 1st place podium!

Thank you to Maude Mathys, Aurélie Moinat, Stéphanie Gaillard, Alan Velati, Daniel Bouzon, Sebastien Gonzalez, Maxime Beney, Daniel Atienza and Pierre Fournier for their fantastic performance and their commitment to the association.

Sybille Geier, who is also part of the association, was very pleased, and so indeed are we, with her individual time of 1:38.28 in the half-marathon! With this remarkable time she took 3d place in the Suisse Championships in her category! A hearty "Bravo" to her!

For the 10km, it was not so much the performance that was remarkable, but the great fun shared between father (Tom Grant), son (Jacques Grant) and daughter (Roxane Jaquier-Grant) all running for the first time together. They passed the red line hand in hand in a time of 58.12 (the objective being less than one hour). All three were just happy to run for Help-for-Hope but also convinced that it was a great performance!
