Zurich Marathon

Hard conditions but a thrilling races and a Swiss ticket to London!

Help-for-Hope's athlete, Hailu Begashaw, ran in the elite men's race the Zurich Marathon (42,195km) in 2:11.13 and won a third place on the podium (datasport results)!!!

After some 15 minutes into the race, heavy rain set in and did not stop for most of the run.
A few kilometers from the finish, it all came down to a face-off of two athletes form Kenya (Franklin Chepkwony and Shadrack Kemboi) and two athletes from Ethiopia (Hailu Begashaw and Tesfaye Girma Bekele)!
