Zurich Marathon - 17 April 2011

On April 17th 2011, over 3’000 runners took on the 42.195km at the 9th edition of the Zurich Marathon. Help-for-Hope was present, with Charl van Zyl sporting the association’s colors.

The spirit of an Ironman: Charl did the Zurich Marathon as a training run… and ended in a brilliant 3:17! And this with little specific running mileage, basically living on airplanes for the past four months, and one year after a solid knee surgery. Very impressive Charl, born for Hawaii ;-)

In Charl’s words: “Flying the flag for Help for Hope during my April Zurich Marathon run - I surprised myself given the longest run I did in training was 2hrs and I travelled every week (except 2 weeks) this year - I did pay the price though with very sore legs the week after”
